How do you build a cocktail brand heroing hospitality in its truest form, and the stories shared around the dinner table that its founders are known for? How do you prioritise this tradition in a saturated cocktail market that is centred around the art of mixology and bartending?

Built in the midst of Covid19 by a Melbourne hospitality group, the founders came to us knowing they could create a quality cocktail – meaningful moments, organic ingredients, and a personalised approach rich in culture and family traditions was second nature – but they were confused as to what brand story they would tell. They approached Blurr to help them launch a cocktail company during the pandemic to save their restaurants, and make real the dream of batching tailored cocktails.

How do you build a cocktail brand heroing hospitality in its truest form, and the stories shared around the dinner table that its founders are known for? How do you prioritise this tradition in a saturated cocktail market that is centred around the art of mixology and bartending?

Built in the midst of Covid19 by a Melbourne hospitality group, the founders came to us knowing they could create a quality cocktail – meaningful moments, organic ingredients, and a personalised approach rich in culture and family traditions was second nature – but they were confused as to what brand story they would tell. They approached Blurr to help them launch a cocktail company during the pandemic to save their restaurants, and make real the dream of batching tailored cocktails.

The Clarity
Everything surrounding the drink is as important as the drink itself: the people you drink with, the glass you drink from, the atmosphere and feelings exchanged during these times. They all come together to contribute to meaningful moments in our lives.
With sharing stories at the centre of the brand experience, the product experience would also be designed to be shared. Two drinks in every bottle, garnishes for each cocktail, handwritten family recipes with each parcel, quotes inspired by food, wine, and travels. 
The brand tells the story of the founder’s culture and culinary experiences. From the mum who cooks the biscotti that comes with each Limoncello; to the restaurant staff who slice and dehydrate every piece of orange for the Negroni’s and Old Fashioned’s. The founder had tweaked dozens of recipes passed down from his family to perfect the final product and the brand would centre these themes of community and connection. Nonna’s simple, handwritten recipes were used for the tissue wrapping – so you can satisfy your stomach as you sip on a cocktail; old family photos of loved ones sharing a drink and meal were the key brand visuals, as opposed to generic stock or new campaign photography.
