BAIA DI VINO

Baia di Vino is a window to the bay's most delicious feasts, bringing a taste of the Mediterranean to Melbourne with a playful flare. A brand refresh for this favourite bayside local restaurant, to reimagine fine dining by the beach.

The Blurr

How to roll out a brand refresh for a restaurant of refined Mediterranean dining, while capturing and honouring the casual atmosphere of the bayside setting it finds itself in.

Baia di Vino came to Blurr with a seemingly simple yet complex request: How can we hero the high quality of ingredients, wine and service offering without ostracising the relaxed setting of the restaurant?

We were presented with the challenge of redefining fine dining by the beach.

The Clarity

Literally translating to ‘Wine Bay’, Baia di Vino pays homage to the simplicity of European coastal life: simple food, world-class wine, and hospitable service – an expression of what we love most about the Mediterranean found right in Melbournes bayside town of Sandringham.

By spotlighting the very things that make Bayside so alluring – a summer breeze, boats in the distance, and the eclectic local, playful illustrations created an approachability with lively moments and a lightness amongst the fine dining experience.

By integrating the architecture of the building within the brand, using the archways as a focal point for animations and content, we created a sense of joy and movement throughout Baia di Vino’s identity. This unique style of animations that only Baia di Vino could truly own, gave them a colourful edge and soul in a typically rigid market. Applied to both web and social, the animations were a nod to the team’s easygoing, and fun-loving attitude to upscale dining, making dishes of the highest quality accessible for all.
